Perfect bookstore and great website, You can order online and pick up in store too, was really easy to do. My son loves the kid book section in the back. Great place to pick up books for a baby shower gift. Shop local and support small businesses.

I can't say enough good things! In the two years since Big Red opened, it has become an essential part of Nyack's literary scene. Warm, peaceful, inviting space. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Lots of events, across all genres. Great selection, and Richie will order anything they don't have. They even welcome dogs, and provide biscuits.

What I like about "Big Red Books" and its owner, Ritchie, is the fact that he hosts local authors. I was there for a local author event in December last year, and enjoyed the warm reception from the store manager and the camaraderie of the other authors, and all the bookstore patrons who showed up and bought books. In fact, I ended up buying books that were on display. bookstores are always the heart of any neighborhood, and Big Red Books is that kind of place in the heart of downtown Nyack. The moment you walk through the door, you will start browsing a carefully curated selection of titles that feels both thoughtful and adventurous. New releases share the shelves with local authors, timeless classics, and hidden treasures you didn’t know you needed. I found myself paging through new books on jazz, like "The Notebooks of Sonny Rollins" and books on art, like the new book about Edward Hopper's paintings, and new titles in fiction and poetry. I even loved browsing the cook books. In every section there was a book I wanted to read. In addition, there is a children's and young adult section that has many great new titles. And I was very impressed by the poetry section which had an impressive and wide array of contemporary volumes of poetry as well as timeless classics. There is the couch, affectionately named "Big Red" in the center of the store that invites you to linger, and the store’s events such as "Indie Author Day" give it the atmosphere of a true community hub. Supporting an independent bookstore like Big Red Books feels good because it’s more than a shop—it’s a gathering place for readers, writers, and dreamers. Every visit reminds me why I love books in the first place. Five stars, without question.

Our family loves Big Red Books. We have been able to order books that aren't in stock and they arrive quickly. We also really enjoy the events that are hosted. We hope Big Red Books is part of Nyack for a long, long time!

Big Red Books is the heartbeat of Nyack! The shop offers a thoughtfully curated selection of novels, poetry, and nonfiction books. The children's book section is delightful! The shop offers great classes and hosts top-shelf readings; it’s a place that creates community. Kudos to proprietor Richie Fulco and staff for their keen literary eye and ability to make Big Red Books a home away from home for its customers. 5 Stars!

Big Red Books is a brilliant bookstore across every metric. The store carries a diverse array of literary genres, and is constantly expanding to include fresh titles. You can even order from them online if they do not have the book you're searching for in store! The shop is also dedicated to fostering a community with events and readings that are so much fun. Every time you visit Big Red Books, you gain something new from the experience, and not just a new book. I can't recommend this store enough.

Whether you are a reader or an author (or both!), you will love this store. Good selection of books in a cozy, browser-friendly environment. They host many events like author appearances, book clubs, poetry readings, etc. Always something going on! They also recently opened a backyard patio. Big Red Books has been a great addition to the Nyack community.

Nyack was in desperate need of a cozy bookstore where you can get lost in books and hang out on the big red couch. And Big Red Books fulfills every book lover's cup. Richie is so kind and friendly, he always has a smile on his face and willing to help find books. His staff are also super friendly and helpful. I love that they aren't just a bookstore but they are so supportive local authors and of the arts in general and host lots of events for artists and writers. It's a bookstore created on love and connection with the community of Nyack. Whether you're a local or an out of towner, I highly recommend stopping by the store, it's beautiful and filled with plenty of the classics and new & upcoming books.

They carry really interesting books—honestly, the kind I would buy anytime. The atmosphere is super cozy, and they actually have a seating area along with different interactive spaces that make the whole customer experience feel engaging. There’s also a small kids’ play area in the back, which I think is a great and thoughtful idea. Overall, the staff is friendly, and the store is in a great part of Nyack. There were several books I had seen online and thought of ordering, but now that I know they have them here, I can just stop by any day, buy what I want, and head home without waiting for anything. For me, that’s a huge plus.

Big Red Books is the best! Richie has created a warm atmosphere for people to gather, readers, authors, book groups and panels, kids and adults. The store offers a beautifully curated selection of books and the calendar is always full of exciting events. I'm particularly thankful to Richie for all that he has done to support me as an author, hosting my book launch and inviting me to store events for meet and greets. It's clear that he champions local authors and seeks to bring the community together. Big Red Books has become a real Nyack staple! A magical place! Thank you, Big Red Books!
